The Battle of Worcester Society Visit

Monday 8th November 2021

This morning a few people from the Battle of Worcester Society visited our school and told us about the Civil War and the Battle of Worcester. At the start, a man called Richard came in and told us about what happened and showed us a PowerPoint with information. The main features were King Charles I, Parliamentarians and Royalists. We learned about how King Charles I started the war by saying that he wanted to rule the land without Parliament making decisions.

After that, two men called Roger and Bryan walked into the hall wearing clothes that people wore in the 17th Century and showed us: how to put on armour, how to use a musket, how to use a pike, old knives, helmets and some other weapons.

Year 6 had a great morning and learnt lots.
